Thank you. <br/>Please call/text this number if interested: 386-214-9908<br/><br/>Cat located in this city: South Daytona, FL<br/>Cat’s Name: Maui<br/><br/>Cat’s Age & Sex: At least 1 yr old Male <br/>(likely older but we don’t know for sure)<br/><br/>Cat’s vetting history (spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped): Maui was spayed and vaccinated on 5/20/26 as part of a TNR effort but we knew from the first time we met him that he was friendly and adoptable so he has a microchip instead of a tipped ear. He’s also been treated for fleas and dewormed.<br/><br/>Animals story: (where found and reason for wanting to rehome): This gentle giant (16lbs of solid muscle!) was found living outside a local extended stay hotel but he’s just too friendly to stay outside.<br/><br/>Personality (shy, social, likes to be held, lap cat? Likes or dislikes): Maui is one cool cat! He’s one of the most unique and impressive male cats we’ve ever seen. He is a beautiful tux with some scars that we like to call his “tattoos” just like Maui from the movie Moana. Or maybe he’s even more like the actor who played him-Dwayne Johnson, “The Rock,” if he were a cat. :-)<br/><br/>Maui is NOT shy-he’s almost immediately friendly, loving, gentle, chatty (don’t be late with the food because this guy LOVES to eat and he’s not afraid to tell you when he’s peckish!!) He is just the sweetest guy and we want him to have the best indoor life with some humans who will finally give him the love and peace he deserves.<br/>If you can’t see it here -copy and paste this YouTube link into your browser to see a video of him! <br/><br/>https://youtube.com/shorts/k_GL7q_UARE?feature=shared<br/><br/>We did have him tested while in the clinic and he is FIV+ (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) so ideally, he would be a single cat. (While there's no cure, FIV-positive cats can live long, healthy lives with proper indoor care, a balanced diet, and regular vet check-ups to manage opportunistic infections.)<br/><br/>Any Supplies that go with pet (food, litter, leash, cat box, bedding, toys): Some food, favorite toys to help with the transition (he loves his catnip banana!)<br/><br/>What food is the cat eating (dry only, dry and wet): Maui thinks he’s bulking up for the World’s Strongest Cat competition and loves his wet food…A LOT. He has been eating mainly wet food since he’s been inside. <br/><br/>:::::::::::Please know that cats need canned wet food given DAILY. Why? Because cats have a low thirst drive and actually NEED the moisture from the wet food! Wet food is 75 % water (dry FOOD only 10%) and giving them wet food daily will help them avoid Urinary tract issues (which can lead to litter box avoidance), kidney disease, obesity issues linked to diabetes and cardiac issues. You will save on vet bills too!  Limit the overly processed dry food and ensure cat eats all the wet food daily. At the VERY minimum each cat should get one 3oz. can of wet food a day or HALF of a 5.5oz. can a day (although we recommend double this).<br/>:::::::::::: More info here: FurryNationSalvation.Org/wetfood<br/>IF YOU WANT TO ADOPT:<br/>1) Please show up with a cat carrier.<br/>2) Small adoption fee of: $20<br/>3) We will call/text one month from adoption day just to make sure everything is going well.<br/>4) Please show up with your Driver's License.<br/>5) Information sheet will be filled out (your information as well as mine).<br/>*Please know, that when you bring your newly adopted cat or kitten home, it is always BEST to place him/her in a very small room (bathroom works great) with their litter box, food, water, and bed for a few days to a few weeks. This way the animal can adjust much quicker and get acclimated to the new environment with less stress. All cats/kittens need time to adjust, so if you adopt please allow this.
