Martha's Story

Super darling little girl, Martha was pulled from a car engine after a long ride on a cold afternoon. She was fine except for an injury along her lower right jawline. All healed up now, she has been raised in a loving foster home with other cats. She LOVES her kitty buddies, so definitely needs another feline pal. She's a purr machine and biscut maker! Playful, affectionate, sweet and gorgeous, Martha is fully vetted and available to meet at Lake Anna. Please email megshrum@gmail.com with questions. The Louisa Humane Society does not have a brick and mortar facility, so all of our pets are in foster care. Once approved, the foster parent will reach out to arrange a visit. The foster family can tell you all about their likes, dislikes, and little quirks. The application and visit do not oblige you to adopt, but if you're ready to take the feline home as your furry forever friend, their adoption fee is $150.

Louisa Humane Society's Adoption Policy

If you are interested in meeting any our animals, please fill out an adoption application at www.louisahumanesociety.com, click on the “paw” for Adoption Application. or copy/paste the following link into your internet browser: http://louisahumanesociety.com/adoptionapplication.htm Once submitted, the vet reference you provided will be contacted (if no vet, please provide 3 personal references, may be family and friends as long as they have a dog that you interact with), and a volunteer will schedule a phone interview with you. Once approved, you will be contacted by the foster parent to discuss the animal and arrange the logistics for a visit. Our rescue group does not have a brick and mortar facility, all our animals are home fostered in our volunteer’s houses. You will be visiting a private residence. The application does not oblige you to adopt, nor does the visitation; the application just gives us more info to help ensure a good match. Our policy is that we always take our animals back should it prove to be a less than perfect match, or if you are unable or unwilling to care for the animal any longer. We just don't want the animal to go back into the system.
