Marnie's Story
Hi, my name is Marnie! I'm a RED pawprint, which means I need an experienced home that meets some specific criteria. Here is what would work best for me in my new home:

-Personality: Marnie is reserved and skittish. After some time, she does become affectionate and loving.
-Can Live with Cats: Unknown history. Slow supervised introductions with resident cats may be okay. Up to counselors discretion.
-Can Live with Dogs: No thanks! Loud sounds and sudden movement scare Marnie.
-Can Live with Kids: Nope! Marnie would do best in an adult only home that is quiet and low foot traffic.
-Needs Indoor Only Home: Outdoor with supervision okay.
-History of Litter Box Issues: Yes, Marnie eliminated outside of the litterbox the first couple days she was in the shelter. Marnie has started using her litter box when its bigger and has cat attract in it.
-Energy Level: Moderate
-Bite History: None
-Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: Nope, Marnie is ready to go home!

Additional Information:
Marnie seems to be a skittish and shy cat that is under-socialized. She has become very loving towards staff. Marnie loves to curl up on your lap and be petted. Loud sounds and sudden movement scare Marnie. She would do best in an adult only home that is quiet and low foot traffic. Marnie will need someone that has cat-experience with under-socialized cats and have the patience to let Marnie slowly come out of her shell. Marnie will take a while to decompress at her new home, but is a very loving cat.

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website (www.whatcomhumane.org/adopt) or in person at our facility. We recommend calling into the shelter after your application has been submitted so our front desk can give you next steps on our adoption process.
