Marko

Purrecious Marko was all out of sorts when he first came to us. He was living in a loving home with one of our adopted AHS cats, Bella, but sadly she wanted nothing to do with him. The family went above and beyond to try to integrate the two, but Bella-boo would have none of it. Therefore they made the difficult decision to surrender him to us as they trusted that we would take wonderful care of Marko. <br/>Marko was a bit defensive at first, he just didnt understand what was going on. Even the calmest, sweetest cat can show behaviors that can make them appear differently. Huffing, hissing and growling are all natural sounds that a cat may use to let others know they need space and time. After about a week Marko saw he was in a safe place and that everyone absolutely adores him. He was cleared by our vet (his prior family did the FeLV/FIV tests and Fecal Screening prior to intake-both negative) and transitioned into one of our apartments. <br/>Marko is doing so much better and has had time to decompress nicely. Our wonderful volunteers continue to give him the space he needs and are attentive to his body language. He is a love bug extraordinaire who does remarkably well with other very sweet cats! He will do figure eights of love around your legs, flop on his back and show his suPURR relaxed side. Marko is very playful and his former family made sure he was surrounded by his toys, beds, cat tree and tunnel, all part of making Marko a very happy kitty boy.<br/>His ideal home? A home where he will have a feline companion that will allow him to play, wrestle and snuggle endlessly. He really needs a cat friend who he can bond with and have endless kitty adventures with.
