Mark Greene<br/>Male DSH orange tabby with white<br/>Approximately 11 months old<br/><br/>Mark Greene is an odd little guy. He and his sister (Susan Lewis who has already been adopted) were brought to a spay and neuter clinic by another rescue when they were around 2 months old. The rescue was bringing them in for an individual who had a colony of outside cats. These two kittens were very underweight and sickly. Their foster was working at the clinic and saw these two and knew they needed an inside home and medical care so offered to take them. Susan Lewis was adopted months ago but Mark Greene did not have such an easy road. He had severe nasal swelling which required intensive intervention and diagnostics. He had to have a draining tube put into his sinus cavity to allow for flushing of his nasal cavity. His case was complicated and even the specialists who were consulted on his case were stumped. His veterinarian performed multiple biopsies and cultures which did not find an underlying cause. Fungal infection was also ruled out. We knew there was an infection but it could not be identified on culture and numerous classes of antibiotics were not causing any improvement. One last antibiotic nasal drop was tried and it miraculously cleared up the infection! It has been months and his nasal swelling has not returned. It's impossible to know if it will ever return, but we are incredibly hopeful given that it has been months. It's important to keep in mind that he may require further care in the future. He also has an overbite which has caused misalignment of his teeth. He will likely need teeth extracted in the future because his teeth do not align like they should. He has had full dental x-rays and skull x-rays and no intervention was needed at that time. <br/><br/>Mark Greene is a little bit on the skiddish side. His foster often sees him cuddled up with other cats but he tends to hide when approached. He takes time to warm up to you and treats are definitely the way to go. He needs other cats in the home as he is a cat's cat. He's overall a quirky little guy with a funny little face.<br/><br/>He has lived with other cats and a small dog (11 lbs). He has been around a calm large dog (70 lbs).
