Marina's Story
Hi, my name is Marina! I'm a PURPLE pawprint, which means I will fit well into a home that meets some specific criteria. Here is what would work best for me in my new home:
-Personality: Active, Social, Playful, Talkative, Affectionate
-Can Live with Cats: She argued with our cats under the door, but she was protecting her babies (our cats were curious)
-Can Live with Dogs: She seemed curious but confident with our dogs,
-Can Live with Kids: and she did great with people of all ages (mostly 13 and up).
-Needs Indoor Only Home: Would be best as an indoor kitty. She is a petite girl and would be an easy coyote snack or disappear if roaming outside.
-History of Litter Box Issues: None
-Energy Level: Medium
-Bite History: None
-Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: No, ready to go
Additional Information:
Marina is a sweet, chatty girl once you get to know her. It only takes her a few days to settle in to her new home. She was an amazing mother to her four kittens Otter, Reef, Turtle, and Pearl.
Favorite thing about her......How much she loves us! She is learning to be a lap cat, and enjoying it very much. She is also the official kitten room greeter along with her kitten, Reef.
Marina's favorite activity......Being petted and getting more attention than the kittens.
Her ideal home......A home that will be patient with her at first while she warms up and then loves her people to pieces. She deserves her time in the spotlight--she has been a fabulous mom!

"She was shy initially with us, but her babies were only 3 weeks old, and she was a young mother. It took less than a day for her to warm up to us, and now she is very brave and confident."

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website (www.whatcomhumane.org/adopt) or in person at our facility. We recommend calling into the shelter after your application has been submitted so our front desk can give you next steps on our adoption process.
