Meet Marie!<br/><br/>Marie is a friendly little pal who would love nothing more than to spend her days hanging out with her people. She's happiest curled up in your lap or beside you on the couch, keeping you company while you relax after a long day. She'll happily spoon with you during a movie, listen to all the work tea, and remind you that whatever happened today, you still have a cat who thinks you're pretty great.<br/><br/>Marie enjoys some playtime and absolutely loves treats, especially squeeze-up treats. But mostly, she just wants to be with her people. She loves both of her foster parents and happily settles into either of their laps. She would be a wonderful companion for someone looking for a calm, affectionate cat without a lot of chaos.<br/><br/>Marie is 4 years old and has been in foster care for more than TWO YEARS, nearly half her life. She was dumped at a shelter in a laundry basket with her sisters and was unfortunately the kind of cat who could easily get overlooked. Thankfully, her current foster family saw the sweet girl underneath her initial shyness and gave her a safe place to blossom.<br/><br/>And blossom she has!<br/><br/>Marie isn't really a shy cat once she knows you. She's more of an introvert. When strangers come over, she prefers to retreat to her bed and wait until everyone leaves. She isn't interested in making small talk with people she doesn't know, and honestly, we can respect that. Once she feels comfortable with someone, though, she comes out to socialize, play, ask for pets, and enjoy their company.<br/><br/>Marie has even stayed at another home and warmed up within just a couple of days. She's not looking for someone who expects her to immediately run up and greet every stranger who walks through the door. She needs someone who understands her personality and will let her settle in at her own pace.<br/><br/>Marie would prefer to be the ONLY PET in her forever home. She isn't aggressive toward other cats, but they scare her. When she's around unfamiliar cats, she hides and freezes, and we don't want her spending the rest of her life feeling afraid.
