MARIBBA's Story
MARIBBA has had no luck finding a forever home. She was left at the shelter at 6 years old and was adopted two months later. Now, 4 years later, she is back. She was abandoned in a carrier at the front door with a note. The first owner claimed she was affectionate, timid, sweet. Didn't always use her litter box but had never been taken her to the vet to see why. She has not had any problem at the shelter. The owner also claimed she didn't like the puppy, and they had to force her to live on the porch. They suggested she be euthanized!

Her recent owner loves her dearly but felt MARIBBA was too anxious living in an apartment. The owner also has some health issues, so felt it would be best to give MARIBBA up. This kitty has been named Henrietta, Buttercup, and MARIBBA. She is weary, but still sweet, likes attention, but does not ask for it. She is also not a fan of any sudden, unexpected moves. At her age, she should go to a quiet home, with no dog and probably best with no children.

How can one sweet kitty have such rotten luck? There must be a kind, patient soul out there who recognizes that this sweet baby needs a hero to give her love and a peaceful home forever!

MARIBBA loves treats - will eat them out of your hand if you're patient. She loves ear, chin, cheek and butt scratches. Responds to a gentle, quiet voice - reach out to her but let her make the first move

DOB-06/2016 Entered Shelter 06/2021 Re-entered-06/2025

If you would like to adopt MARIBBA, please visit the shelter during Adoption Hours, Mondays & Wednesdays, 4:00pm to 7:00pm, Saturdays, 10:00am to 1:00pm, or call 231-773-3030 to make an appointment.
