MARIAH's Story

MARIAH is a very shy, 3 year old TUXEDO DOMESTIC LONGHAIR. She has green eyes, is spayed and has all of her claws. She is just over 6 pounds. She has been fully vetted, is up to date on shots, dewormed, microchipped, and is FeLV/FIV negative, and is ready to go to her forever home.

Mariahs owners were moving and could not take her with them. She has been in foster care for over a year. She had reportedly never been around other cats, but it was found that she was pregnant. She gave birth last summer, and all her kittens were adopted. Attempting to take her to the vet caused a regression of past trauma, and she has taken a long time to learn to trust.

Her foster family has tried to integrate her with the kitties in their home, but she has absolutely no interest in joining them. As such, even with her door open, she does not want to come out of her room. Mariah does enjoy being petted, as long as it is on her terms, but she still doesn't completely trust and will jerk back. She deserves her own home, where her new owner will continue to work with her and give her the time she needs to fully trust them.

Mariah loves to sit in the window and watch her foster family as they come home. She talks to her foster mom every day and has days where she plays, but this isn't often. She has thick fur that mats easily, thankfully, she tolerates being brushed now. She would do best as an only kitty with an understanding owner.

ADOPTION FEE $50. FOSTERED IN OTSEGO, MN

We rarely get kittens of any breed. If we do, they will be listed in the “Available for Adoption” section. We can only hold cats for ONE WEEK. IF YOU ARE NOT READY TO ADOPT A CAT NOW, PLEASE WAIT TO FILL OUT AN APPLICATION. Please remember that our cats are located in various foster homes in 6 different midwestern states (Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota). We do adopt to people out of state but WE DO NOT SHIP OR TRANSPORT OUR CATS. You must pick up the cat in person at the foster home. You cannot send a representative. So, you would be looking at a road trip or plane ride. If you cannot do this, please DO NOT APPLY. We do not keep a waiting list for any breeds. Please be sure that you are interested in a specific cat on the “Available for Adoption” page before filling out an application. YOU MUST FILL OUT EVERY SPACE OF THE ADOPTION APPLICATION OR IT WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED OR PROCESSED.
