Maria's Story

Maria is a 2-year-old sweetheart with a heart full of love and absolutely zero interest in your dog’s nonsense.

This beautiful spayed girl is incredibly friendly and loves attention from her humans. She is the kind of cat who will happily keep you company, supervise your daily activities, and remind you that personal space is highly overrated.

Maria does great with other cats and would likely enjoy having a feline friend to hang out with. Dogs, however, are not exactly her favorite roommates. She could potentially live in a home with dogs as long as she has a safe, quiet place to retreat while she adjusts and settles in at her own pace. Think “private VIP lounge,” but with cat beds and judgmental staring.

If you are looking for a loving, social kitty with a little sass and a lot of charm, Maria is ready to move in and claim your sunny windows immediately.

This cat is available for adoption from Oceana County Animal Control. If interested, please call the shelter at 231-861-5395 and leave a message to be placed on this cat's adoption list. No obligation, but it reserves your place in line on the list. The shelter will contact persons in the order they are on the list. The adoption fee is $35 and you receive certificates for $25 towards spay/neuter and $10 towards rabies if not already done.
