Maria's Story

Maria is a sweet 10-12 month old Siamese who had a really tough start in life. She was found in Mexico after being hit by a car. Luckily a kind man found her and took her to the vet where they learned she had a broken pelvis. A couple of months of cage rest in a foster home in Texas and she has healed. She arrived to Journeys just a few days ago where we finished getting her ready for her new home. She has tested negative for leukemia/FIV, has had her distemper and rabies vaccinations and has been dewormed.

Personality wise, Maria is extremely sweet, but is understandably nervous at the same time. She loves to be pet but sometimes gets nervous and does a quick hop away. She’ll then circle back for more attention. Her new home should be willing to spend a bit of time helping her adjust to another change. Maria is also quite chatty, like many Siamese and is very food motivated! She’s also very small, only about 5 pounds currently.

If you’re interested in meeting or potentially adopting Maria, please contact journeyscatrescue@gmail.com

A note about our adoption fees:
Journeys Cat Rescue is a very small rescue with just a few foster homes. We do not have a vet on staff (we are all volunteers!) and we regularly take on some pretty significant medical cases from shelters across the United States (limb amputations, full mouth extractions, FIP treatment, etc). If we are lucky enough to bring in healthy cats or kittens, they often still need vaccinations, leukemia testing, and to be fixed. If you are able to provide an additional donation over and above the adoption fee, it is always appreciated!
Alternatively, consider helping to sponsor one of the cats in our care.

*A portion of Maria’s adoption fee will be used to help support the rescue in Texas that found her*
