Manzanita, aka Chili's Story

If you are interested in meeting this kitty, please complete our adoption questionnaire at http://www.fluffbuddies.org/infoquestions.php<br/><br/>Manzanita, born approximately 5/5/13, is a petite Tortie. She was adopted as a kitten and named Chili by her adopter. Chili was returned to us in late Feb when the adopter went into hospice and the adopter did pass away on March 3, 2026. At her fosterer's home, she was bewildered, yet dignified. Despite her life being turned upside down, she has been gentle and sweet throughout it all. She shows her affection by winding back and forth against your legs and purring away. She also has a soft, little meow. The neighbor (who brought her to us) said Chili loved to lie on the back of the recliner as the adopter and she watched TV.<br/><br/>As we always do with seniors, she was given an exam and senior panel (blood test plus urinalysis) where it was discovered she is in fantastic health for her age! (We provide copies of these results in the adoption packet.) However, both her eyes were bothering her and it was discovered her bottom lashes were rubbing against her eyes, causing an ulcer in 1. After entropion surgery and lots of eyedrops, she is now healed and, more importantly, painfree.<br/><br/>Next an ear infection was noted in both ears as she kept scratching at them. Manzanita had to endure over a week of once daily ear washes and twice daily ear drops which were excruciatingly, maddingly ticklish for her. Throughout the eye and ear medications, Gloria retained her incredibly sweet demeanor. Towards the later part of the ear treatment, she would even PURR while the medication was massaged into the base of her ears.<br/><br/>She seems to be okay with other kitties and small dogs but, because she is a senior, it would be nice if she had a home where she could be the only kitty (or maybe just 1 other 1) because that is what she had for most of her life with her adopter - her hooman all to herself.<br/><br/>Adoption events are held at the Fair Oaks Petco (Madison at Hazel) on Saturdays from noon to 4pm.

Fluff Buddies's Adoption Policy
Adoption events are held at the Fair Oaks Petco (Madison at Hazel) on Saturdays from noon to 4pm. Please complete our online questionnaire. http://www.fluffbuddies.org/infoquestions.php Fluff Buddies is a 501(c)(3) non-profit group of dedicated volunteers. Our purpose is to provide shelter, food, medical care, and love to homeless felines until we find them loving, furever new homes. Our kitties are FeLV tested, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, flea treated, and microchipped. However, since the majority of our kitties are rescued from local high-kill shelters or 'from the streets', their backgrounds are unknown and we cannot guarantee the temperament or any unforeseen health problems that may arise with rescued animals. Our kitties are housed in foster homes in Sacramento County, California. Potential adopters are selected through an adoption screening process. There is a nominal adoption fee that goes towards the care of the kitties. We place to indoor only homes. No declawing tho some cats are already declawed when they come to us. We do not ship cats. We will place cats out of area but you must arrange to come and meet your new friend in person.
