Mango's Story

Meet Mango

Mango is a 6 year old cat with the most unique little face, beautiful eyes and a personality that slowly sneaks its way into your heart.

Like several of our cats, Mango narrowly escaped euthanasia after being found as a stray struggling with urinary issues. Thankfully, one of the veterinarians working with the shelter saw something special in her and fought to give her a second chance.

Since then, Mango has undergone a cystotomy surgery to remove a bladder stone and has been doing wonderfully. She will need to remain on a urinary diet long term to help prevent future stones and urinary problems, but the food is very manageable and comparable in price to many quality pet foods.

Mango is also on a healthy weight loss journey and has already been making progress. Her future family will need to continue supporting her routine and healthy lifestyle to keep her feeling her best. To help set her up for success, we will send her home with her personalized feeding plan, a scale for regular weigh-ins and a few months worth of her urinary food.

She absolutely loves to play, loaf around the room like a tiny fuzzy statue and greet you when you walk in. She’s affectionate in a calm, easygoing way and really enjoys simply existing near her people.

Mango tolerates the other cats here just fine, but honestly we think she’d probably enjoy being the centre of attention in a quieter home or as a solo cat. She coexists well, but gives the vibe of someone politely putting up with roommates rather than actively wanting them around.

Because of her size, Mango may occasionally need a little help with hygiene and keeping herself clean back there while she continues losing weight.

She’s such a special looking cat with an equally special story and we would absolutely love to see her finally get the peaceful forever home she deserves.

Thanks to our wonderful donors, Mango’s adoption fee has also been fully sponsored to help this beautiful girl find her forever family.
