Mama -CC Omaha's Story

MOMMA is approx 2 years old and was found while she was searching for her litter that had been relocated by SOLAS the day before. She was reunited with her babies and taken to a foster home where she was able to continue to care for her babies in a safe environment. She also adopted an orphan kitten that was found in a construction site with its eyes still closed! She took it in as it was hers and cared for him like her own. When she arrived into foster care she was skin and bones. Weighed in less than 8 pounds! She was taking care of her babies even if she was slowing dying herself. She takes a while to trust but once she does, she is super docile and would make a very nice companion/lap cat. She has a typical Tortitude, but is a sweet girl.

She has been eating Friskies Pate and Sheba Pate as I have been trying to fatten her up. She also eats dry kitten food. She is quiet and slow to trust but once she decides you’re ok, she likes to just lay next to you to watch tv… or just hang.

I do believe she would do best as the only cat in a home and she has not been around dogs so I’m not sure how she would be around them.

Completely litter trained, all shots, has been fixed, microchipped and ready to be a companion to some lucky person.

I do believe she would do best as the only cat in a home and she has not been around dogs so I’m not sure how she would be around them.

Our Mission
By definition, the word “solace” means “that which furnishes comfort or consolation.” Coincidentally, SOLAS, although it is spelled differently, provides the same thing for many unwanted dogs, cats, and other animals living in the Council Bluffs/Omaha area. SOLAS was started in 1993 by Mary and Mike Jones and a small, har...
