S.O.L.A.S.

Incorporated in 1995 as a support system for the City of Council Bluffs Animal Shelter, Solas Rescue has evolved into a foster-based rescue organization working primarily with cats in both Iowa and Nebraska. We have no physical facilities and no paid staff; Solas Rescue is entirely volunteer-run. We take in animals from high-risk situations and provide them with the care, medical attention, and love they need until they find a safe and permanent forever home. We believe every animal matters. While we can’t save them all, the ones we do save are deeply appreciative— both the animals themselves and the families who lovingly adopt them. We believe the local homeless pet population can be reduced through educated citizens, dedicated volunteers and rescue groups, supportive veterinary clinics, and city officials willing to advocate for animal welfare. SOLAS is a 501(c)3 organization. We are not affiliated with any political organization.
