Malachi's Story

Malachi is a sweet shy guy! We call him the watcher in his foster home cause he loves to be close watching the action but doesn't participate. Malachi will need a patient & understanding adopter that will take their time gaining his trust because loud sounds & fast movements still scare him. He is unsure how to ask you for attention but if you find him relaxing he loves ear, chin & butt scratches, which he does a cute little stretch for. When he becomes more comfortable he will purr & make biscuits.

Malachi's hobbies include sitting high up in a cat tree to watch the happenings in his home, napping in a soft warm bed, getting brushed, being handsome, hanging out with his buddy Suomi & eating treats. He will even eat Temptations or a Churu from your hand. His favorite toys are stuffed mice & a rubber centipede that his foster family bought for him at petco. He would love to be adopted with his friend Suomi because they are being fostered together or another friendly cat who likes to cuddle. Malachi would most likely do well with a relaxed dog after a slow, proper introduction but small children would scare him.

Malachi is estimated to be about 1.5 years old. He is neutered, microchipped, flea treated, vaccinated, dewormed, and has tested negative for FIV/FeLV. Are you looking for a sweet by shy pal? (And his BFF?) Consider Malachi (and Suomi!)

Trash Cat Rescue's Adoption Policy
Typically the potential adopter reaches out either with or without a specific cat in mind. We will usually ask questions about the type of cat the adopter is interested in (any preferences as far as gender, color, personality, etc.), as well as the sort of home the cat would be going to (any kids, other pets, etc.). If we have a cat or kitten who would be a good fit, the adopter can fill out our application for that animal. If not, the person can still fill out the app, and we will keep them if mind if we end up with a cat who we think would be a good fit. Once the app is reviewed/approved (including checking vet and landlord references), we would chat any further with the adopter if needed, and then schedule a meet and greet with them with the cat or kitten. If the animal and the adopter hit it off, the adopter would then fill out our adoption agreement, pay the adoption fee, and take the cat or kitten home!
