Majesty and Haru's Story
Meet Majesty & Haru

Two best friends, two giant personalities, and SO much love to give

Majesty (4 years old, 10 lbs) and Haru (6 years old, 15 lbs) are two incredibly sweet boys looking for their forever home together.

When they first arrived at their foster home, they were understandably a little unsure of their new surroundings. But that lasted for about one day. After that, they decided they had officially approved their new environment and quickly became affectionate, playful little lovebugs who wanted ALL the attention.

Majesty

Majesty is our handsome Norwegian Forest Cat boy. He may be the smaller of the two at 10 pounds, but don’t let that fool you — he has a BIG personality.

One of his absolute favorite things is getting his head scratched, and he has figured out a very effective way to make sure you don’t miss the hint: he will literally stand up on his back legs to reach your hand for pets.

He’s affectionate, playful, and loves attention once he knows he’s safe and comfortable.

Haru

Haru is our 15-pound tuxedo boy with a huge heart and an adventurous personality.

Of the two, Haru is the most comfortable exploring new situations and new rooms. He’s curious and confident and loves checking out what’s going on around him. He’s also a total lovebug and is always happy to accept some attention.

Together

These boys are very much a package deal. They have a wonderful bond and constantly gravitate toward each other. They may wander off to do their own thing for a while, but somehow they always end up back together — and quite often on top of each other.

They both love to play, especially with laser pointers and mouse toys, and they have plenty of playful energy to keep each other entertained.

They’re also surprisingly easygoing when it comes to new people. When someone new comes into the house, they don’t cower or panic. They may retreat to their safe room at first, but once everyone has settled in, they’ll come back out and investigate what’s happening.

At their adoption event, they were surrounded by new people and dogs and handled the experience beautifully. Neither boy hissed or growled at the dogs. However, they have not lived with dogs in a home environment, so we can’t say yet how they would do with a dog long-term.

They currently live with a Maine Coon in their foster home and are still figuring out how they feel about him. As with any new animal introduction, slow, supervised introductions are recommended to give everyone time to adjust.

What about kids?

A 7-year-old girl currently lives in their foster home, and the boys absolutely adore her. In fact, she may be their favorite person in the house! She’s calm and gentle with them and gives them the space and affection they need.

We don’t have experience with very young children, so we can’t speak to how they would do with toddlers or small children specifically. But their experience with a calm, gentle 7-year-old has been wonderful.

The important stuff

Majesty: 4 years old, 10 lbs, Norwegian Forest Cat
Haru: 6 years old, 15 lbs, tuxedo
Bonded pair — must be adopted together
Both are affectionate lovebugs
Both use the litterbox
Both love pets and attention
Both love laser pointers and mouse toys
Both enjoy exploring and playing
Both tolerate new people well
Both are currently living successfully with a 7-year-old
Both were calm around dogs at their adoption event, but their behavior with dogs in a home environment is unknown
Slow introductions are recommended with new animals

Majesty and Haru have come such a long way in foster care. They went from cautiously checking out their new surroundings to demanding pets, playing, exploring, and making themselves completely at home.

They’re goofy, affectionate, playful, and deeply attached to each other. They don’t just need a home — they need a home that has room for both of them and all of the love they have to give.

And if you’re lucky enough to meet them, don’t be surprised if Majesty stands up on his back legs and asks you for a head scratch. He has a very specific way of ordering his pets.

Majesty & Haru are a bonded pair and are looking for their forever home together.

Apply here to adopt: rubywhiskers.org/adopt
