MAGGIE aka MAMA

Meet MAGGIE!<br/><br/>She is estimated to be about ~3 years old and our best guess on weight is around 10 lbs.<br/><br/>Maggie was born a stray in Puerto Rico and has been looked after for a couple of years and medically cared for by a wonderful and trusted independent rescuer that we work with, Nicole! Nicole feeds her and her cat friends twice a day and she pretty much just hangs around her house, lazing on her patio and taking excursions in the neighborhood. Due to Nicole reaching her landlord's capacity for the number of animals she can have in her apartment, Maggie unfortunately must remain outside for now; however, we KNOW that Maggie would make a great housecat as she is frequently begging at the door to be let in the house. :(<br/><br/>Maggie is a sweet cat who loves human touch! She allows handling and belly rubs (see video). She is a sweet and trusting cat. Her nickname is "Mama" as, before she was spayed, she gave birth to many kittens in the neighborhood. We didn't want her to live a life of baby making and we didn't want her babies to have a bad fate (several of them were hit by cars) so we got her spayed and vetted and she's ready to jet!<br/><br/>Maggie has a regal look and motherly personality; confident and sweet, yet with an independent flair. Nicole says she knows what she wants and what she doesn't want. Her rescuer made a joke saying that after she was spayed, her face looked grumpier - maybe she wanted to continue having babies!? We think she needs to find a new purpose in life and now it's time for her to be someone's spoiled baby! :)<br/><br/>Given Maggie's nice and gentle personality, we think Maggie would be fine with dogs in the home with a proper introduction.<br/><br/>Any potential adopter is welcome to have a virtual meeting with Nicole to meet Maggie!<br/><br/>PLEASE NOTE: Maggie is currently in Puerto Rico and will fly to her forever home once adopted. Adoption fees listed here ($275) cover all transport related costs to the States. There are NO other fees. :)<br/><br/>We can arrange transport to many places throughout the U.S., although we focus our adoptions on the East Coast with a focus on the Maryland/Virginia area and NYC.<br/><br/>She has been fully vaccinated and spayed.
