Maggie's Story
For The Cats' Sake

MAGGIE has been at our rescue for three years now, and is 16 years old! P

rior to coming to us

she

had a loving home with nine other cats and a caring human who sadly had to go into hospital and didn't recover. In 2023 we responded to a call to help her ten senior cats who had nowhere to go, and we took in all ten of them: five were transferred to another shelter, the oldest (age 20!) was adopted to a home and dearly loved, and the three remaining females, who were very bonded, were adopted together by one of our amazing volunteers!

But

poor

MAGGIE was not adopted, and largely took up residence in the kitty shed

loft area

, where she watched from above as potential adopters and volunteers alike came and went. However Maggie is very friendly, when she's petted and not spying at us from above

, and this beautiful girl is definitely ready to find a home and the attention she deserves in her senior years. MAGGIE would likely be fine in a home with other felines and also lived with a dog in her former home. She

isn’t asking for much—just a safe, indoor-only home where she can receive the loving companionship she once knew. She loves the catio, or a screened porch, but would trade those things to have her own home. Could it be yours? Please fill out the (no-obligation) adoption application at

https://form.jotform.com/81848821130152

if you’d like to meet

ONLINE ADOPTION FORM:
https://form.jotform.com/81848821130152

We do not have a fixed adoption fee at For The Cats' Sake, but instead ask for a tax-deductible donation to our group. On average, we spend over $250 to cover spay and neutering, testing for FeLV and FIV, vaccinations, flea treatment, deworming and any vet care/medicine that is needed. We ask for a minimum donation of $80 per cat, and that adopters pay more if they are able to. Our goal is to find the best home for each animal, and we feel this policy makes it possible for more people to adopt one or more cats. It is important to us that every adopter can afford to care for their pets properly and give them a home for life.

TNR and a whole lot more...
