Maggie's Story

I'm Maggie!

Once I get to know you, I will be loving and playful. I do have manners, know my name and words such as "no no." I love to play a lot!

I'm careful with my claws and love my cardboard scratching box. My favorite toys are fuzzy ball wand strings, little mice or just a plain shoelace!

I love to talk about everything and even have some of my own sounds! I like to be held and don't mind my nails being trimmed. I love dry food but can be a little picky about my wet food preferences.

I like my open bed to sleep in and may shy away from hands that come without warning. Once I feel safe and trust the people in my life, I love attention! I'd be a very good kitty in a forever home!

Maggie participated in our Whiskers of Hope program and her bio is written by her foster from Oak Park Heights Correctional Facility.

Whiskers of Hope: Fostering Cats in Correctional Facilities, in partnership with Oak Park Heights Correctional Facility is designed to give cats a calm, consistent environment to decompress and receive one-on-one care and provide incarcerated individuals with emotional support, a sense of purpose, and the opportunity to give back by fostering animals in need.

Each participating individual lives in the mental health unit and has earned the opportunity to be part of this program through positive behavior, leadership, and responsibility. Cats live with their assigned caregiver in a private room, with access to shared enrichment spaces and regular oversight from both facility staff and our team.

Each cat receives daily enrichment, love, and individualized care. In turn, the program offers therapeutic benefits to the people involved and helps prepare each cat for a successful adoption.

Maggie was a lovely mama to six beautiful babies that have all since been adopted!

All CSHS kitties are spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, FIV/FeLV test (if not born in care), dewormed and microchipped.

If you are interested in Maggie please submit an application today! https://www.carverscotths.org/

Carver-Scott Humane Society's Adoption Policy
At the Carver Scott Humane Society, we follow an Adopter's Welcome philosophy. This means that instead of an overwhelming application process, home visits, and hoop jumping, we take a conversational approach to our adoptions. Our goal is to make adoptions possible and help you be a successful pet parent! Once an application is submitted, we take applications as "first-come, first-considered." While this does not guarantee that the first applicant will adopt the animal of their choice, it does guarantee that we will process the application all the way through before moving on to the next application in line. If you see an animal you are interested in, please apply as soon as possible! This does not obligate you to the animal in case you change your mind, but may assist in securing your place in line for that animal.
