Lydia's Story
Lydia is a curious and spirited girl with a love for adventure and a fondness for her beloved toy crab, which she happily chases from room to room. She has a sweet routine and is quick to remind you when it’s mealtime—often escorting you from the kitchen to her dining spot (watch your step, she’s a great little shadow!).

Though Lydia enjoys being petted and is learning to trust more every day, she prefers to keep all four paws on the ground and isn’t a fan of being picked up just yet. She comes when called most of the time and continues to blossom with gentle guidance and a patient, loving touch.

Lydia enjoys both wet and dry food and spends her days gazing out the windows—so much so that even the neighbors have commented on seeing her move from window to window, taking in the world outside.

She has shown some dominant behavior toward other cats, so we believe she’d thrive best as the only feline in her forever home.

Lydia is currently being fostered by one of our wonderful senior volunteers and would love to find a permanent home with a retired friend who can spend time getting to know her and helping her continue to thrive.

We're so glad she wasn’t returned to the feral colony—Lydia has clearly found her place in a home. Could that home be yours?

To learn more about this kitty, please email adopt@catsrusrescue.org or submit an adoption application online at https://catsrusrescue.org/adopt/adoption-application

All of our cats and kittens are rescues. They are mixed breed unless otherwise noted. If a cat or kitten is designated as a particular breed we do not have papers to verify the breed information. We assign breeds to our cats and kittens based on similar appearance, size, and temperament as described in the breed description of a purebred cat.

Our adoption fee is $120.00 for kittens under 1 year (2 for $200), $100 for cats over 1 year (2 for $180), and $150 - $250 for exotic breed cats or kittens. We do not have our own spay/neuter clinic so the adoption fee we charge helps our rescue pay for a portion of vet fees incurred to prepare a cat or kitten for adoption. The adoption fee includes a wellness exam, spay or neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, FeLV and FIV testing (negative/negative unless otherwise noted), treatment for parasites (fleas, ticks, intestinal worms, ear mites), and microchipping.
