Luna's Story
Hi, my name is Luna! I'm a RED pawprint, which means I need an experienced home that meets some specific criteria. Here is what would work best for me in my new home:

-Personality: Affectionate, talkative, sensitive
-Can Live with Cats: Luna would prefer to be an only cat. She tolerated the cat in one of her previous households.
-Can Live with Dogs: No thanks, Luna prefers to not be around dogs.
-Can Live with Kids: No thanks! She is required to go to an adult-only home.
-Needs Indoor Only Home: Yes, she has always been indoor-only.
-History of Litter Box Issues: Yes. Luna has had past medical issues with urinary crystals, and behavioral issues with inappropriate urination. Both of these issues have been resolved during her stay at the shelter. A C/D prescription diet should keep her in good urinary health, but behavioral issues (i.e. going outside the box) may recur in times of particularly high stress. It is likely she will have some accidents while adjusting to her forever home!
-Energy Level: Moderate
-Bite History: Yes, she has bitten and broken skin previously.
-Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: No, ready to go!

Additional Information: Luna is a love bug and snuggler on her own terms. She tends to enforce her boundaries harshly, so it is important she goes to a cat-experienced home that can read her body language and let her choose when it's time for affection. She enjoys a relaxed lifestyle and would thrive in a quieter, adult-only home. Due to a past incident of biting a senior, we are recommending Luna go to a home with no senior residents. Please ask staff for more details on all things Luna, she is an absolute doll and a favorite amongst our animal care team (Luna herself will have lots to share too, she's a bit of a chatterbox)!

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website (www.whatcomhumane.org/adopt) or in person at our facility. We recommend calling into the shelter after your application has been submitted so our front desk can give you next steps on our adoption process.
