Lucy's Story

All interested people should submit an adoption application as their first step.
Meet Lucy - She is a petite girl and as sweet as can be. She loves people and will gladly roll around on her favorite cardboard cat scratcher and rub up against you. She loves affection but as any cat, prefers affection on her terms. She'll go do her own thing when she is done getting the love and affection she wants. She is a sweetie pie! She is shy around new cats but would likely do fine with one or two passive cats at most. Since she is shy around new animals, she would prefer to not live with dogs at this time unless they are small and will leave her alone. She much prefers the companionship of people over cats. She did grow up with her senior cat brother (not real brother). She came to use with the other resident cat she lived with previously but does not need to be adopted with him although if someone was willing to adopt both and keep them together, we would be over the moon to keep them together during their next transition in life!

Check out Ziggy - he is the cat that Lucy grew up with since a kitten and currently lives with in her foster home.

All pets adopted from GDHS are spayed or neutered, have vaccinations brought up to date, are on heartworm preventative (dogs), FIV/FELV tested (cats) and microchipped.
The Greater Derry Humane Society does not have a physical shelter, and all visits are by appointment only.
