Lucy's Story

Two months ago, we received a call that reminded us why community matters. A kind neighbor reached out, worried about a cat named Lucy. Her owner had moved into a nursing home, and with no family to step in, Lucy’s world was suddenly turned upside down.
When Lucy first arrived, she was heartbroken and terrified. She did what many of us want to do when things get tough—she hid under her blankets and refused to eat. We knew she didn't need a "fix"; she just needed time.
With a lot of patience and gentle encouragement, Lucy’s spirit began to return. Today, the cat who once wouldn't leave her covers is the first to greet us in the morning! While she still takes a moment to trust new faces, she now greets our staff with excitement, eager for breakfast and head scratches. Lucy is a lovely, soulful companion looking for a quiet sanctuary. She needs a patient soul who understands that the best things in life are worth waiting for.

If you're interested in giving Lucy her final home.
