Lucky Penny

Penny is an absolute gem of a cat. She has a medium energy level, which means she loves to play, gets the zoomies, and can be wonderfully silly, but she is just as happy curling up for a nap nearby and spending the day hanging out with her person. She is companionable in the truest sense. Penny really likes to be in the same room as you, whether that means leaning against your legs while you watch TV, relaxing in a bed across the room, or snoozing nearby while you work. She enjoys affection, loves a good cheek scratch or tail base rub, and will sometimes curl up in your lap, especially when it is chilly. More often, though, she prefers to settle alongside you and keep you company in her own sweet way.<br/><br/>One of Penny’s signature traits is how talkative she is. She has the cutest little chirpy hum and uses it for just about everything, whether she is entering a room, hopping on the bed, asking for food, getting pet, or simply saying hello. She is a very vocal little conversationalist without being loud or demanding, and it is one of the many things that makes her so endearing.<br/><br/>Penny also has a wonderfully playful side. She is obsessed with ping pong balls and will bat them around, play soccer with them, hoard them, and chase them across the room. She also loves wand toys, especially ones with feathers, and will launch herself dramatically into the air to catch them. Penny is not exactly graceful, which only makes her more lovable. She tumbles, rebounds, and goes right back for more, often with total confidence.<br/><br/>Penny is currently very happy as a solo cat and we think she would do best as your one and only. She enjoys human attention and companionship and seems content with that arrangement. She has not lived with dogs in foster care, though she has watched a dog in the yard without seeming frightened. She may do well with an older, quieter child who can respect her space and read her cues, but she would probably be happiest in a home that is more stable and not too chaotic.<br/><br/>She has such a sweet, silly personality and seems to be growing more affectionate as she settles in. We think once she is in a permanent home and fully comfortable, that side of her will bloom even more. She can sometimes give a little love nip if she gets overstimulated during extra enthusiastic petting, but she is easy to read and responds well to boundaries.<br/><br/>Penny is also incredibly cute. She is soft and fluffy with a huge puffy tail, beautiful stripes, perfect little ear tufts, and the most adorable freckles on her nose and mouth.
