Lu Fang (Himalayan Mix)'s Story
To meet Lu Fang, please text 214 621 1139.

If you are well versed in Chinese classical literature, then you would recognize the name Lu-Fang right away. However, this gorgeous poufball goes often by the moniker 'Fangie'. He is one of the most pliable kitties in the foster home and can often be found draped over his foster parents' shoulders and carried around like a large, furry rug.

Lu Fang has the gentlest disposition. He often likes to contemplate life , from the middle of the room, on the floor, where he couldn't care less if foot traffic has to make detours around him. He loves nothing better than to get his gorgeous coat brushed and stroked. He will roll onto his back and exposed his chubby, hairy belly and stretch out his legs so he can get the full treatment during brush time. If he is not satisfied with his treatment, there will be some vocal complaints in the form of "Eek, Eek!"

Lu Fang was rescued from a case of backyard breeding. As such, he is most likely purebred as both his parents are long-haired chocolate points. However, as with the case of inbreeding, only the genetics for looks were considered. As such, Lu Fang was afflicted with an autoimmune disorder that resulted in stomatitis. Our rescue made the difficult decision to remove all this teeth so he would not be in constant pain. He is considered to be a high maintenance cat, due to his long hair, double coat and the fact that he is a messy eater. As such, his coat needs to be brushed daily. He probably needs a bath every two or three months with a gentle, skin-sensitive cat shampoo and grooming. To keep his masked face looking adorable, his owners will need to gently wipe his chin daily as he is a rather messy eater.

We are looking for experienced cat owners who are well-versed in the needs of a long-haired cat and especially one that has an autoimmune condition. Please do not apply unless you are an experienced cat owner and have the time and love to dedicate to this very sweet fellow of a kitty.

We will require a Meet and Greet interview, a vet reference, a guardian and a home visit to ensure that Lu Fang goes to the best possible home where he can be pampered for life.
