Louie's Story

**Adoption visits are by appointment only** If you see an animal you're interested in, fill out an adoption questionnaire on our website https://everettwa.gov/161/Adopt-a-Pet

Meet Louie! We think this gentle guy is around 10 years old. He arrived at the shelter dehydrated and underweight. Now that he is back to a healthy weight, he is ready to find his forever home.

Louie is 11 pounds of love. He is a very tolerant cat, letting his foster kids carry him around and love on him constantly. His foster mom describes him as a cat puddle as she handles him for beauty treatments (nail trims and brushes). The resident cat in his foster home is still not his favorite, but with slow and supervised introductions they are learning to cohabitate

Louie is a confident cat who loves exploring his foster home to find the cushiest spots to relax near his humans. He is often found striking a pose as he surveys his domain. As a senior kitty with early kidney disease, he will require established and regular vet care to make sure his health is monitored as he continues to age. He has been started on a prescription diet that he will be on life long to help his kidneys. If you have room in your heart, and your home, for a loving senior kitty, Louie would be a wonderful companion.
**Adopter will be sent home with a prescription for his special diet**

Everett Animal Services's Adoption Policy
ADOPTIONS BY APPOINTMENT To help keep our staff, volunteers and community healthy, we now handle all adoptions by appointment. Our shelter is not open for walk-in visitors but our awesome dogs, cats and other critters can all be viewed online. This enables us to comply with social distancing guidelines while still finding loving homes. How does this work? If you see an animal online you’re interested in, click on the Adoption Application button to visit the Everett Animal Shelter web page and submit an online adoption questionnaire. Our staff will review your questionnaire and contact you to discuss the adoption. We appreciate your patience as it may take up to a week to contact you. (Also, we sometimes receive multiple requests for the same animal. We try our best, but we may not be able to respond to every questionnaire submitted.) We will set up an adoption appointment using strict social distancing protocols, and many transactions are processed ‘curbside’ outdoors. Our staff will go over appointment details when they speak with you. Renters please bring rental pet policy at time of adoption. Not having the rental pet policy available may delay or nullify an adoption. Animals are usually able to go home right away, so be prepared for your new pet to leave with you when you visit the shelter for your appointment. Animals are added and removed from our website in real-time. If an animal is no longer listed on the page it usually means it has been adopted. CATS - Adult cats (over 6 months): $50 - $75 - Kittens (6 months and under): $150 - Two kittens adopted on the same day: $200 DOGS - Adult dogs (over 6 months): $175 - $250 - Puppies (6 months and under): $350 SMALL ANIMALS & BIRDS - Adoption fees vary based on species We accept Visa, MasterCard, or cash payments. We are not able to accept checks for payment of fees or services.
