I arrived to the shelter at no fault of my own. I have not lived with other animals or kids, but i have been very friendly and laid back at the shelter.Louie was found to be overweight/obese with a Purina Body Condition score of 9/9 (too heavy). Obese animals are prone to health problems such as diabetes, arthritis and other orthopedic diseases. Please discuss with your veterinarian an appropriate diet, feeding amount and exercise plan for weight loss. If weight loss is not achieved further diagnostics, such as bloodwork, may be necessary. Through a proper diet, feeding amount, and exercise plan you can help them live a longer, healthier life. Louie also exhibited anisocoria, which is a condition when the pupils of the cat's eyes are different sizes; in other words, one pupil is larger than the other. In Louie's case his Right pupil appears larger and more dilated than the Left. It is also slow to respond to direct light stimulation. Anisocoria may be caused by a number of disease processes including: Previous injury or trauma to the eye, disease or injury of the brain or nerves running to the eye, glaucoma, uveitis, retinal disease, iris atrophy, congenital defect, cancer, viral infection, etc. This condition does not appear to be negatively affecting him at this time.
