Longfellow C12481's Story
Longfellow is quite possibly the cuddliest cat you'll ever meet. If a lap presents itself, he will climb into it-every lap, every time. "If I fits, I sits" may be a cat motto, but Longfellow has taken it personally when it comes to laps! He loves headbutts, rubbing against his people, nose boops, and settling in for a serious cuddle session. Sometimes he even turns into a complete limp noodle while being petted. He's also a chatty guy who enjoys carrying on conversations with his humans and animal friends alike.

Longfellow grew up on a horse farm surrounded by all kinds of companions, including lots of other cats, dogs, chickens, geese, ducks, turkeys, and horses. He was the fun uncle to all the tiny kittens on the farm, and it's clear that having feline friends is a big part of what makes him happiest. He's moderately active and will need another friendly cat in his forever home. His humans come in a very close second, of course! He especially loves knowing his little friends are nearby-when he hears kittens meowing next door, he gets adorably concerned that something might be wrong with his babies.

Longfellow would thrive in a home where he has plenty of companionship and room to socialize. He does not enjoy being confined to small spaces or a carrier, so his adopters should be patient and understanding about that. His vision isn't quite the best right now, but he still enjoys catnip toys and all the important things in life-especially cuddles. He's fantastic with the litter box and isn't particularly interested in wet food. If you're looking for a sweet, social, talkative lap cat who will happily melt into your arms, Longfellow may be your perfect match.
----
Want to adopt a kitten? We highly recommend you consider bringing home two instead of one! Adopting kittens in pairs has been proven to be beneficial for cats' emotional and behavioral well-being and greatly improves the likelihood of long-term adopter happiness as a result. Adopting more than one kitten also reduces the risk of "Single Kitten Syndrome" (also known as Tarzan Syndrome), a symptom of under-socialization during a kitten's most formative weeks. Kittens who are under-socialized may develop aggressive tendencies toward both other animals and humans as they grow, creating lifelong behavioral issues for owners.
