Lolita (Persian, special needs)'s Story

Just look at this face!! Have you ever seen anything cuter in your life?

Lolita is a 9 month old Persian young lady with a gene aberration “down syndrome”. It is not officially a veterinary diagnosis but these cats have wide spaced eyes, tiny crooked noses and mouths. Internet and social media has labeled these cats as such.

Lolita has the most loving endearing purrsonality. She would be happiest just being held and carried around. Lolita plays with the fishing pole and interacts well with all cats.

The issues with Lolita are very manageable. Due to her nose and eyes being different she has a tendency to have wet eyes and sneezes a lot.

Other down syndrome cats we have rescued they can occasionally get URI’s. She uses the litter box like a champ. Lolita is the 4th down syndrome cat we have had in our rescue.

Lolita needs to go to a home that understands that she will need to have her food intake monitored because she can eat and eat. Also, Lolita is so starved for affection she can get underfoot seeking out attention. She needs to have a bell collar on her and be extra careful to not step on her.

This lil angel will bring so much joy to a home. We would like her to go to a home that is patient, full of love and know she is a special needs that will need to be closely monitored as she gets older.

Fostered in Fairfax, VA
