Meet Lola <br/>Lola made us work a little harder for her happy ending.<br/>This beautiful, all-black, medium-haired girl is the tiniest of five kittens born outside to a feral momma. When the kittens were about four weeks old, their mom began doing something incredible—carrying her babies, one by one in her mouth, to the doorstep of the wonderful woman who had been feeding her.<br/>But Lola's journey was a little different.<br/>While her siblings were brought to safety and eventually made their way into foster care, little Lola remained outside. It would be another 10 days before she was finally caught and reunited with them.<br/>Ten days may not sound like a long time, but when you're a tiny kitten trying to survive outside without your brothers and sisters, it's a pretty big deal.<br/>And Lola hasn't forgotten that the world can sometimes be a scary place.<br/>She's the runt of the group and definitely the most cautious. Trust doesn't come instantly with this girl—you have to earn it. But once Lola decides you're safe, she's all in. And there is something incredibly special about being chosen by a kitten who doesn't hand out her trust to just anyone.<br/>One thing we've learned about Lola is that other kitties are her comfort zone. She gets so much of her confidence from having another cat nearby. She watches them, follows their lead and seems to understand that if they're safe, she can be safe too.<br/>Because of that, Lola's perfect forever home will be one that already has a friendly, social kitty who would love a companion. Having a feline best friend beside her will give Lola the security and confidence she needs while she continues learning that humans can be pretty wonderful too.<br/>We don't see that as a downside to our little Lola at all. She's simply a girl who feels braver when she has a kitty friend by her side. <br/>Lola is healthy and has been fully vetted, vaccinated, spayed, microchipped and dewormed. She is currently living in South Chandler with her foster family and is being fostered through Save the Cats AZ.<br/>Lola probably won't be the kitten who runs up to a stranger and immediately asks to be held.<br/>She's the kitten who asks you to give her a little time.<br/>To show her you're safe.<br/>To let another kitty show her the way.<br/>And then to let her choose you.<br/>Because when Lola finally decides you're one of her people, you've earned something pretty special—this tiny girl's whole heart. <br/>Lola doesn't need a perfect home.
