Lochness (Nessie) - BONDED PAIR with Kraken's Story
Meet one of our Cryptkids, little baby Lochness - also known as Nessie!

Female | 4 months | Spayed | UTD on vaccines including rabies | dewormed | microchipped | FeLV/FIV negative

Nessie is a bonded duo with her brother Kraken and our org will NOT separate them. If you are unable to adopt both, please do not apply for them and consider another unbonded cat. <3

Personality wise both Kraken and little Nessie are velcro kids through and through. They would love a home with kids that want attention from the kittens 24/7 and are obsessed with sleeping under the covers with their foster mom. Both kittens have been raised with a 140lb cat friendly mastiff along with several other permanent resident cats in their foster home. They truly are unicorn kittens when it comes to great temperaments. Nessie as seen in one of her photos is also a little nap queen and will find any spot to crawl into for a good snooze.

If you are open to be the unicorn triple kitten adopter we do have another slightly nervous girl named Cardboard (Cardi B) that has bonded closely with these 2 as well. Temperament wise for her she's pretty cautious of new people but VERY food motivated and warms up quickly with some Churu and treats. Both Kraken and Nessie really help to bring out her kitten demeanor and in a perfect world we'd love for them to get to go together. We do realize this is a big ask and if you are that unicorn adopter for a trio our org is happy to waive Cardi B's adoption fee. <3 Cardboard is not the type of kitten that loves to be carried around but she does love to lounge next you on the couch and glare at you for more food 24/7. Her personality truly is larger than life, she just needs someone patient and understanding of her tempo. More info can be seen on her adoptable post!

INTAKE HISTORY: Nessie came into Inked Kittens Club with her mom and 3 brothers after they were found to have ringworm in a shelter and given a hard euthanasia deadline. After arriving the litter came down with upper respiratory infections as well from the shelter environment (this is very common). They’ve since been cleared of ringworm and have recovered incredibly from the URIs. In full transparency they did test positive on a PCR for both mycoplasma and calicivirus - we tested to ensure the proper antibiotic was being used to treat them. Both calici & myco are very common in shelter settings and thankfully the litter never developed the ulcers you'd typically see with calici. With that being said, they will be able to live long happy lives despite these conditions and can live with other cats that may not be positive or a PCR history unknown as long as everyone stays up to date on their FVRCP vaccines. We would NOT recommend adopting them into an FIV+ household though due to FIV cats having reduced immune systems.

As always adoptions in pairs are prioritized. For this pair specifically we will not be reviewing applications that are not willing to adopt both siblings.

The adoption fee for a single kitten is $150 while a pair is $250.

____

Interested in Adopting?

Complete our Adoption Application on our Profile Page (click the “Visit Our Profile Page” button below). We do not evaluate inquiries.

Please read below before applying:

We do not adopt on a first-come, first-served basis. Our priority is finding the best match for each cat or kitten. Applicants interested in adopting a pair of kittens are typically given higher priority. Due to concerns about Single Kitten Syndrome (SKS), young kittens are not eligible for solo adoption unless there is already a young kitty of similar energy in the home.

What is Single Kitten Syndrome?

Single Kitten Syndrome occurs when young kittens are adopted alone. Without a feline playmate, they may develop behavioral issues such as:

• Aggression or anxiety
• Inappropriate chewing or scratching
• Litter box avoidance
• Difficulty adjusting to new pets or children later in life

While not all single kittens experience these challenges, it’s a common reason cats are rehomed later. The best way to prevent SKS is to adopt kittens in pairs or ensure there’s already a playful, compatible cat in the home.
