LONELY LITTLE LADY: Magnolia was brought to the shelter as a solo kitten, rescued by a Good Samaritan who didn't want to leave her in peril outside. Little Maggie was very frightened on her first day at the shelter, but responded right away to cuddling from her volunteers, soaking in the compassion and love, just wanted to be held close. We've since mingled her with other kittens in the kitten playroom, but she is hissy with them one minute, playing with them the next. And then hissy again, and then playing with them again. It's like she's learning kitten social skills all over again, and at such a young age for a little girl to be left alone. She is better with adult cats, understanding her role as the submissive feline, and enjoys spending time with our mommy cats. What she needs most is to leave the shelter and find a home with a family who can provide all the love and attention she desires... unfortunately, in our limited hours at the shelter, we can't give this baby what she truly needs.<br/><br/>Maggie will do well in a home with another cat, and should adjust to living with a dog, as long as the dog is not aggressive towards smaller creatures. She will be good with people of all ages, including young children, as long as she gets plenty of cuddling and playful interaction.<br/><br/>Adoption fee for Maggie is $75 — her rescuer took her to the vet before bringing her to the shelter, and the vet spayed her and gave her a distemper vaccination, but decided she should wait for a rabies vaccination, as she's only 10 or 11 weeks old. Her adopter will be responsible for her rabies vaccination and distemper booster. So, she is already spayed, but still needs some vaccinations. She has received a flea treatment and dewormers, and is box-trained. Personal checks are accepted from R.I. residents only; all others may pay by credit/debit card or money order, payable to "Town of Scituate."
