LOCAL CAT, Glinda The Good's Story

Good-natured Glinda arrived at the shelter in mid-September, rescued after showing up on a local farm looking for food. She is a very sweet, affectionate cat, laid-back and content to just sit with her volunteer friends and enjoy some petting, some hugging, and a little lap time. She gets along fine with the other shelter cats, but she does not engage with them, and prefers if they not bother her. She doesn’t hide from them, she just sits on a tower and observes all the goings-on in the shelter cat room, happy to get a little attention from her volunteers when we have the time.

Glinda will make a fine companion for humans of all ages, including young children. She should be fine living with another cat, as long as the cat is more the submissive type. She’s not an alpha, but she’d rather not have another “alpha” her. We’re not sure how she feels about dogs, so if you are interested and have a dog, reach out to us and we’ll see what she thinks of a shelter dog.

Glinda is estimated to be 5 or 6 years old, is spayed, current on vaccinations, box-trained, and tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia. She has also received flea treatments and dewormers. Adoption fee is $125. Personal checks are accepted from R.I. residents only; all others may pay by credit/debit card or money order, payable to “Town of Scituate.” No cash is accepted.

For more information or an application, email ClayvilleCritters@cox.net or call the shelter at (401) 647-7200. You can also visit the shelter during regular hours: Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri 7 to 11 am, Sat 10 am to 3 pm (or Sun and Mon by private appointment). Please call before visiting to make sure she is still available.

You can also access a downloadable application by clicking this link, or by going to the Town of Scituate’s Animal Control page and scrolling down to the link to the Cat Adoption Form:
https://www.scituateri.gov/departments/animal_control/index.php

Or copy and paste the following into your browser: https://cms5.revize.com/revize/townofscituate/scituate%20ri%20cat%20adopt%20form%20rev%200922.pdf

Please email all PDF applications to ClayvilleCritters@cox.net for faster processing.
