LL Toe Beans & Suzie Stubbz's Story
Grab the tissues guys… this one’s good!

In March 2026, L.L. Toe Bean found himself at the MCSPCA as a 1 1/2 year old stray with an injured paw. His paw ended up having a bad infection that proved to be resistant to a lot of different antibiotics. This meant that poor L.L. Toe Bean needed an extended stay with our shelter technicians so we could keep a close eye on his ouchie toe beans! The whole time he was in the tech room, he did everything he could to get himself a kitten friend. He groomed them, cuddled up next to them, played with them, you name it! But no matter how hard he tried to prove he would be a good dad, there were no kittens that needed him as much as he needed them. That was, of course, until he met Suzie Stubbz…

Suzie Stubbz came to us as a teeny tiny kitten with a teeny tiny stubby tail. It was her and her littermate, sick with a tough upper respiratory infection. She loved her brother dearly, but she lost him unexpectedly, leaving her truly heartbroken. She cried out for him nonstop, jumping at the door so she could break free and find him. At only 9 weeks old, she had been through so much. We tried to introduce her to other kittens, but she wanted nothing to do with them – how could they understand what she was going through? L.L. Toe Bean, however, knew exactly how to comfort her, like he had done for so many other kittens in the past. I guess you could say he’s not technically her stepdad, but he is the dad that stepped up!

These two are inseparable and truly love each other. When they’re not playing together, grooming each other, or snuggling up, I’d bet you that they’re thinking about each other! After everything they’ve been through, it’s only fair that they get to stay together forever… they are a bonded pair. Double the love, double the fun, double the kitties – what could be better!
