Lizzie Lizard's Story

Lizzie is a beautiful teen kitten with striking torbie markings and gorgeous copper orange eyes. When Lizzie first arrived at Misfits, she kept her distance, unsure of the world around her, but with time, she’s truly come into her own. These days, Lizzie is affectionate, approaching for pets, and enjoying cozy cuddles. At night, she’s happiest tucked beside her person, snuggled up near their side or curled at their feet. She also really loves cuddling with other cats.

Her new home should have a couple cozy spots where she can hide and feel safe. Once she builds enough trust with a person, they are rewarded with her sweet, loving, and playful personality. While exploring a new space, Lizzie likes to have a trusted person nearby to come back to for pets and reassurance. Then she shows off her best zoomies, biscuits, and even her cute little tummy.

Lizzie is currently more of a “cuddle next to humans” cat than a lap cat, but that may change as she continues to grow her social skills. Lizzie loves to play. Wand toys, cat dancer, ball track, toy mice, and pompoms have all gone over well. Lizzie likes other cats and would adore having another playful cat in her new home to share in her escapades.

Lizzie is a relatively quiet girl, with a cute squeaky meow. She doesn’t meow too often, mostly when excited to see you or while exploring a new space.

In terms of grooming, Lizzie is a very fastidious young cat. She even washes her face after treats! Once comfortable with someone, she does not mind having her paws, face, or ears touched. Currently, it is difficult to trim her claws, due to her fear of being held. She usually enjoys brushing, but it can be overstimulating if she’s in a high-energy mood.

Lizzie is still building confidence in new environments and with new people. She prefers a calm setting and often feels most comfortable meeting one person at a time. Being pick up isn’t her jam, and she may be unsure if approached directly, especially while someone is standing. She appreciates and feels safest when people let her come to them to initiate interactions.
When she chooses you, it’s really something special.

Lizzie is looking for a patient, understanding home that will let her continue to blossom. For the right person, she’ll be a rewarding companion, who chooses to love you every single day.

Fun fact: we had the enjoyment of learning that Lizzie isn’t much of a mouser and prefers to play with the tiny home invader friends instead.

Lizzie is not super food motivated. She currently free feeds on kitten kibble. She does seem to prefer soft treats (like Churu), and seems to prefer fish flavors over poultry flavors.

Est. DOB July 2025, she is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and tested negative for FIV and FeLV.

Please note that the Misfit Felines policy requires that young kittens will either need a sibling to go home with or there must be another playful/young feline already in the home.

Adopters will also receive an adoption package of goodies valued at around $100 if you visit one or both of our pet store partners after adoption (Tabby & Jacks and/or All Paws).

Misfit Felines Inc is a foster based 501(c)3 rescue. All of our cats are in foster homes. The first step in the adoption process is to submit an application.

Apply: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/MFR/Cat
