Little Sheba's True Fairytale's Story

*** Meet Little Sheba NOW at PetSmart Camillius!! ***

Chapter 1: The Rescue
Once upon a time, a small gray kitten found her way to a cat feeding station in the yard of a Kind Knight of the Realm. The Kind Knight noticed the kitten didn't eat or move around much, so he contacted CNYCC and a foster took the kitten in. The next day, the foster took the kitten to the local Wise Wizard for Animals. The Wizard said the kitten wasn't a kitten at all but a very small & skinny 1 year old tiny cat who weighed just 3.5 lbs - the size of a 3-4 mos old kitten!! The Wizard opened her bag of tests & potions. The tests showed the tiny cat was severely anemic because her immune system was destroying her red blood cells - this made her tired and not care about eating. The Wise Wizard sent the tiny cat & her foster home with an inexpensive potion, known in the Wizard Realm as a steroid, that would calm the tiny cat's immune system.

Chapter 2: The Transformation
Because the cat was so little and looked like the Sheba cat food cat, the foster named her "Little Sheba". The Wizard's magic potion almost immediately helped Little Sheba eat more... and more... and more! Over the next seven months, Little Sheba kept eating... and eating... so that she grew...and grew... and GREW!! She grew so much she's now is a petite 8 pound young cat! When the foster first began giving Little Sheba her magic potion, Little Sheba spent a lot of time cuddling with her foster and loved being petted and snuggled. As time went on, Little Sheba transformed into a bundle of kitten-like energy! She still adores being petted and cuddled, but is full of energy and races around her foster home. She's positively exuberant about life!

During the months Little Sheba spent with her foster, Sheba showed how wonderfully she got along with the other cats in her foster home. Sheba greets each cat with her tail held high & happy, hoping her cat-friend would like to play. If the other cat doesn't, Little Sheba takes it in stride and heads off on her own adventure. Sheba's adventures include running around, chasing spring toys or helping her CNYCC foster recycle by shredding up packing paper and boxes. Her foster has little time to play with her, but figures Little Sheba would love someone to play wand-toy with her! Little Sheba also has her quiet times and in those times she likes to lay in a sunny patch by a window to look out at the big world or to take a nap. In the quieter late night hours when her foster has time to sit with her, Little Sheba still loves to sit on her lap or next to her to be petted or just to sleep and recharge her Energizer-like cat batteries!

Importantly, Little Sheba visited her Wise Wizard for Animals regularly during her transformation into the larger, healthy, high-energy cat she now is. The Wizard says Little Sheba's immune system had gone off kilter due to very bad stressors on Sheba. We'll never know what Sheba went through prior to finding the Kind Knight who rescued her. But since that time, Sheba has lived a normal indoor home life and was weaned off the steroid months ago. All along, the Wise Wizard has continued checking on Sheba's red blood cell count and it has remained normal, so Sheba was able to get spayed and receive all her vaccines.

Chapter 3: The Search for Happily Ever After
Little Sheba's quest to find her her Happily Every After adoptive home begins here on Petfinder and inside PetSmart in Camillus, NY. Little Sheba is now ready to go to her new forever indoor-only home! In addition to being spayed, current on vaccines and parasite-free, Little Sheba is also negative for FIV & FeLV. Plus, like all CNYCC cats, Little Sheba has been microchipped and her chip includes a free lifetime registry listing.

Sheba is looking for a home where she'll have another kitty buddy to play with. Little Sheba's CNYCC foster doesn't have any dogs so isn't sure if Sheba likes them, however since Sheba is so good-natured and adaptable, its possible she may get along with a cat-friendly dog.

Since, it's possible Little Sheba's immune system could make her anemic again as a reaction to stress, her adopter should watch for obvious signs Sheba is slowing down, i.e., a big decline in energy & lack of appetite. It's not known what sort of stressful events Sheba went through or why she was living on the city streets, but she has flourished in her safe, indoor foster home and we have every hope that will continue forever and ever for Little Sheba!!

If you're interested in giving Little Sheba her happily-ever-after future, you can meet her during store hours at CNYCC's adoption center inside PetSmart Camillus. To inquire about Little Sheba or to receive an e-application, please contact her CNYCC foster at CNYadoptCats@gmail.com. An application can also be submitted online here: https://www.cnycatcoalition.org/adoption/adoption-application/

Your donation of $120 will contribute to the cost of Little Sheba's veterinary treatments such as spaying, rabies and distemper vaccines, testing, microchipping, deworming, and flea and ear mite treatments.

CNYCC is a New York State Registered Shelter/Rescue, Registration Number: RR099
