Little Bird's Story
This is Little Bird or Birdie - she was adopted from us as a kitten and lived as an only pet. Then a new puppy came into the family and she got returned to us. She is now technically a senior cat (born 2018) and she is a Russian Blue. She would prefer a calm home and a person who will allow her some time to get settled. She has had a lot of changes lately and she isn't very happy to have lost her home. She is a beautiful soul and just needs a place to call her own.

All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped. All of this is included in their adoption fee. Fill out an application to adopt at freeborncountyhs.org

When transitioning your new pet home please allow for at least 4-6 weeks for your pet to adjust to their new home. They will need this time to decompress, and adjust to a new routine and environment. During that time we will provide check ins and counseling to ensure a successful transition.

Please review all basic adoption requirements listed on our website before applying. We take finding the right homes for the animals in our care very seriously. They deserve nothing but the best! Please allow 2-7 days for applications to be processed.

If an animal is listed in foster care, these pets are not at our facility, but are in foster care homes. They are still available for adoption, and meet and greets are done with pre-approved applicants only.

If you have any questions feel free to send us an email at freeborncohumanesociety@gmail.com, send us a message on Facebook, or call or text 507-377-8501.
