Meet Linus!<br/><br/>Linus is the kind of cat who seems to have arrived in the world already knowing that there is no reason to be in a hurry. He is remarkably calm, gentle, and trusting—a genuinely laid-back gray cat. In all the time we've spent with him, we have never heard him hiss—even when he was receiving medication and being handled for veterinary care. He simply seems to believe that people are there to help.<br/><br/>Linus is wonderfully talkative and loves having conversations with people once he gets to know them. He seems to have his own little language, changing his meows and vocalizations as though he's responding to exactly what you're saying. His coat is all gray, and he has a nearly perfect rectangle of white fur on his belly. The vet says he is between 4 and 6 years old.<br/><br/>Linus is a connoisseur of life's finer things. He adores catnip and scratch pads, and we haven't found a wet food he doesn't love. He approaches mealtime with enthusiasm and seems to consider every new flavor worth investigating. He is fully litter-box trained.<br/><br/>Linus is looking for a permanent home where his people will appreciate his gentle nature, his funny little conversations, his habit of making biscuits while standing on your chest, and his love of watching videos of birds and mice.<br/><br/>If you're looking for a companion who will quietly become part of your daily life—and occasionally have a surprisingly serious conversation with you—Linus may be your guy.<br/><br/>**Important: Indigo Rescue adopts cats to indoor-only homes or homes with catios. We do this for the safety and longevity of the cats and we hope that our community will learn from our example. Outdoor cats or indoor/outdoor cats fall victim to many predators, including coyotes, eagles, hawks, owls, and even loose neighborhood dogs. They can be hit by cars, poisoned, or trapped and taken away by people who don’t like cats trespassing on their property. They can also spread diseases such as feline leukemia and FIV, neither of which are treatable. Cats will live a very long, enriched life with just a companion kitty as a playmate, a few toys and a cat tree. Please consider re-thinking your cats lives.
