Linden's Story

Linden should be called Star Gazer because his beautiful and rare coat. His black base is complemented by several hairs with white tips making him a walking constellation.

This beautiful and beefy guy came to us as a TNR case. He seemed so scared in his cage, we didn’t think he would be fit for adoption. However, one day he budged. He started to approach the volunteers, letting them pet his forehead and showing signs of behavioral improvement.

Upon joining the general population, he showed signs of being love starved. At the beginning he didn’t know how to ask for attention to the point of aggressively chasing volunteers around the room for pets. Recently, he graduated with a PhD in human behavior. He learned to wait patiently, chats you up and lets you pet him until you are content. Congratulations, you have been trained to love Linden.

We likes the company of other cats and seems to understand his place in the room. He absolutely will fight dogs, so maybe a household without a canine will do. We do NOT recommend young children in the house. We can’t guarantee he has let go of the behaviors he learned in the streets. We hope a loving home will give this black king a chance so he can pursue a postdoc in loving humans.

Visitors are limited to approved applicants only. Please fill out an adoption application if you are interested in stopping by. We will be in touch once your application is approved to set up a visit.

Adopt: lighthouseanimalshelter.org/adopt
Foster: lighthouseanimalshelter.org/foster
