But once Lincoln decides that you're his person, that's when the magic happens. <br/><br/>Once comfortable, Lincoln loves being close, and holding him against your chest is often rewarded with those wonderful soft purrs that tell you he's exactly where he wants to be. There's a playful kitten in there, too, especially when he has a confident feline friend to show him the way.<br/><br/>He would thrive in a quieter home with a family willing to give him the time he needs to settle in.<br/><br/>Lincoln has good reason to be a little cautious.<br/><br/>One early morning in July, one of our Southern rescuers heard a vehicle door slam. Not long afterward, a tiny black kitten appeared underneath her carport — and there he stayed. Frightened and unsure of people, it took about five days before Lincoln decided it might be okay to let someone pick him up.<br/><br/>He's come a long way from that scared little kitten beneath the carport. Now he just needs someone willing to help him take the final step: becoming part of a family.<br/><br/>Lincoln may not be the kitten who runs to greet you on day one. But give him a little patience, and you may discover something truly special.<br/><br/>Because sometimes the shy ones become the greatest treasures. <br/><br/>And let's be honest...<br/><br/>House panthers are the BEST kitties around. ‍<br/><br/>Everybody loves kittens, and it's easy to see why! Kittens four months old or younger are only adopted out in pairs or to homes that already have a friendly, playful resident cat. Young kittens simply do not thrive in isolation, and we do not make exceptions. If you're looking for a single cat, please look to our older kittens, teens, or adults. They're wonderful companions and fully ready to be your one-and-only.<br/><br/>All of the Sweet Paws animals are loved a great deal by their rescuers, fosters, and the volunteers who've cared for them along the way. Your kitten will be up to date on appropriate vaccinations by adoption day, but please keep in mind that kittens require multiple routine vet visits throughout the course of their first year. Sweet Paws is staffed by volunteers, and processing applications is time intensive; therefore, we ask that you only submit an application if you are fully committed to adopting.
