And Apparently On Pest Control Duty.<br/><br/>She may look like a sweet little brown tabby.<br/><br/>And she is.<br/><br/>But don't let the pretty face fool you.<br/><br/>Lilly has a job.<br/><br/>And apparently, she's very good at it.<br/><br/>This 1-year-old New Fairfield girl came to us after two young men found her wandering locally and realized someone must have dumped her. Thankfully, they didn't just walk away. They got her to safety, and Lilly eventually found her way here.<br/><br/>And once she arrived?<br/><br/>She made herself right at home.<br/><br/>Lilly is very affectionate-but she's not interested in being treated like a stuffed animal.<br/><br/>She'll wrap herself around your legs.<br/><br/>Rub against you.<br/><br/>Follow you from room to room.<br/><br/>Come investigate whatever you're doing.<br/><br/>Supervise your activities.<br/><br/>Then wander off and do whatever she has decided needs doing.<br/><br/>She is an independent girl who knows exactly who she is.<br/><br/>And around here?<br/><br/>Everybody knows not to mess with Lilly.<br/><br/>She free-roams our cat room and frequently makes appearances in the office, where she has established herself as part employee, part supervisor, part security detail.<br/><br/>And then she discovered something that really needed her attention.<br/><br/>A MOUSE.<br/><br/>Lilly found it.<br/><br/>Lilly killed it.<br/><br/>Lilly apparently decided that if the shelter was going to provide her with room and board, she was going to contribute to the operation.<br/><br/><br/><br/>And let me tell you something:<br/><br/>This girl is GOOD.<br/><br/>We haven't seen a mouser this impressive around here in quite some time.<br/><br/>For anyone living around Candlewood Lake who has ever spent a Northeast winter listening to something suspicious scratching inside the walls...<br/><br/>Lilly may be the roommate you've been looking for.<br/><br/>She's not going to climb into your lap and demand to be carried around all day.<br/><br/>She has places to go.<br/><br/>Things to investigate.<br/><br/>Possibly mice to eliminate.<br/><br/>But she absolutely wants to be your cat.<br/><br/>She'll follow you.<br/><br/>She'll greet you.<br/><br/>She'll rub against your legs.<br/><br/>She'll check on whatever you're doing.<br/><br/>And then she'll probably go patrol the house.<br/><br/>Lilly is:<br/><br/> 1 years old<br/> Spayed<br/> Microchipped<br/> Up to date on vaccinations<br/> Affectionate without being clingy<br/> Independent without being aloof<br/> An excellent investigator<br/> A legitimately fantastic mouser<br/><br/>She isn't looking for someone who wants a cat they can carry around like a baby.<br/><br/>She's looking for someone who appreciates a cat with confidence, personality, independence, and a very strong work ethic.<br/><br/>Give Lilly a sunny window, a comfortable couch, a human she can follow around, and perhaps a few questionable noises coming from the basement...<br/><br/>and she's got the job.<br/><br/>Come meet Lilly.<br/><br/>She's affectionate.<br/><br/>She's independent.<br/><br/>She's beautiful.<br/><br/>And apparently...<br/><br/>she's hiring.
