What is Marion Area Humane Society’s adoption process?

For adoption inquiries, please email: adoptions@mahspets.org directly! MAHS does its best to place animals into new and loving forever homes. Our adoption program consists of a short adoption application, manager’s approval, and completion of our contract. Below are a few requirements of our adoption contract: All animals must be spayed and/or neutered. Adopters must be at least 18 years of age. Renters must show permission from landlord to own pets. Animals are to be treated humanely and all state laws followed. Adoption Fees (Cash, Check, Credit/Debit cards) Puppies (Under 6 months): $250 Adult Dogs (6 months-7 years): $175 Pit Bull Terrier Mixes: $125 Senior Dogs (8 years or older): $125 Long Term Dogs: $75 Cats: Kittens (Under 6 months): $75 Adult Cats (6 months or older): $50 Long Term Cats: $25
