Lilly’s story began one morning in June, when she wandered onto the grounds of an afterschool program in Newark. It didn’t take long for her to capture the hearts of the kids and staff, who affectionately gave her the name Lilly. Although Lilly couldn’t stay on-site as their unofficial emotional-support kitty, the staff made sure she was cared for. After noticing that she was limping, one staff member got her the medical attention she needed for an irritated old injury. But even a sore leg couldn’t dampen Lilly’s spirit—or her desire for affection! Lilly is very vocal, incredibly loving, and a total snuggle bug. She loves attention and isn’t shy about letting you know when she wants some!
