Meet Lilac
The regal Lilac's beautiful white coat (with the faintest of gray smudges on her head) and deep golden eyes make her a FAN FAVORITE at Catnip Cat Cafe.
Lilac LOVES playing -with humans AND other cats- and makes everyone feel right at home. She should definitely be in a home with another cat friend to keep her company... and entertained. She LOVES her cat friends!
Wand toys with jingly bells will bring her running from wherever she may be. She likes those wand toys to move fast on the ground or in the air, so she can challenge her hunting prowess. After a play session, she loves to be up high in a cat tree for a good nap.
As with most cats, she's a little skittish at first. Sometimes it takes a bit for her to trust humans, and she'll run out of reach, yet other times she wants to be pet. Life with Lilac is on her terms. Isn't that just like a cat? She loves food and treats so this is great for bribery and earning her trust. When she's in the right mood, she's an affectionate lady.
Did you know that only 5% of cats are white?
And how about Lilac's adorable pink “toe beans"? Those squishy pads on the underside of a cat's paws resemble jellybeans, and any cat lover can appreciate how cute they look close up.
Fun facts about toe beans:
1. Toe beans are shock absorbers and mufflers. They absorb the shock of a hard or high fall and allow cats to prowl silently.
2. Cats sweat through their toe beans. They'll leave little wet paw-prints in times of high temperatures and high stress.
3. You can press your cat’s toe beans to trim her nails. They're a magic button to see her extended claws.
4. Fur color and toe bean color are uniquely related. White cats usually have light-pink pads.
5. Cats have scent glands tucked between their toe beans. Scents left behind when kneading ("making biscuits") and scratching is a signal to other cats that this is their spot.
It's important to set reasonable expectations when bringing any new cat home. We offer the Rule of Threes.
