Hi, my name is Licorice. I am 7 ½ years old. I am a very misunderstood girl. I was adopted and returned for “wanting nothing to do with people”. I LOVE affection but I will not go out of my way to get it. I stay in my hide bed most of the time but get SO excited when someone comes to say hi to me. I do well with other cats but dogs might be a bit much for my laid back personality. People see me hiding and they assume I'm grumpy… when that's the complete opposite of what I am. At the Montgomery County SPCA, we are dedicated to finding responsible, forever homes for all the pets in our care. To that end, we have created a thorough adoption process which helps us achieve this goal. This process includes a check of veterinary history records on any pets you currently have, and a home visit. If you rent your home, we require written proof (letter or lease) from your landlord that you are allowed to have pets. We undertake this kind of thorough review to ensure that animals who have already been discarded at least once will never have to experience this again.
