Leo's Story
Meet LEO, the lion that purrs. His specialty is lap sitting. His passive, mellow temperament will let you stroke him or ignore him, cuddling comfortably while you do your thing, for as long as you will stay put. He is a sensitive soul, and loves to fit himself to your mood.

He seems so mellow and calm now, it is surprising that he is actually shy in confronting anyone new. He will warm up to you gradually, and will take time to acclimate to his new home. But once he gains his confidence, he will not be a hiding cat. He wants to be close to you and will watch for the opportunity to come to your lap. He prefers the life style of retirement.

He is well trained. Excellent house manners, never missing the litter box, using the scratch pads, though he likes to sit on one end of the kitchen counter observing what goes on. He will entertain himself with toys, but would rather have you join him in interactive games. Not the type of cat to zoom around the house.

Leo was once infected with the FeLV virus, but overcame it and is now negative on several tests. He was treated for bladder infection, and must remain on a specialty diet food to prevent urinary stones. He is a healthy five and a half years young.

Leo has not let misfortune faze him. He turned up at a farm as a young stray in 2018. He was taken in by a friend of his current foster mom. But then she died in 2021 and he was rescued a second time. He would like to stay on as a permanent resident—if older cats would accept him. So it is better that he find his own forever home, and this time for keeps.
