Lemon Grass's Story

Meet Lemon Grass. His life before coming to the shelter was a rough upbringing, and he's ready to be accepted into his new and loving forever home with open arms. Lemon Grass was brought to us from a humane case with a large number of animals, including farm animals. The conditions of the house were deplorable, and it seemed that Lemon Grass and the other animals struggled to find something to eat. He was underweight, his upper lip was swollen due to ulcers and bad dental hygiene, and he had a large 3-inch gash from the back of his head and down his neck. His attitude towards people was negative, not easily trusting the staff. He used to not let anyone touch him and would even hiss if you looked at him funny. Over time, he gradually mellowed out and realized that we were here to help him. Becoming more comfortable, he allowed himself to trust us and revealed that he's a big sweetie pie. Lemon Grass loves attention, he loves to be pet and scratched especially on his cheeks and neck. He has a tiny squeak of a meow, but his purrs are loud. His behavior and conditioned improved, thanks to some TLC and medical treatment. He's like a brand-new cat, eager to start his new and improved life! Lemon Grass is FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) positive, which essentially means that his immune system is weaker than a regular cat's. If you have any questions about FIV, please ask a staff member. Come by the Humane Society to meet Lemon Grass!
