Lazarus

This dashing fellow has one of Kearney Rescue Cat's more interesting backstories. Lazarus spent 5 long days high up in a tree with no food or water, which for many kitties would have been fatal. We tried what we could to get him to come down, but he refused. We had started to accept the fact that he might not come down alive. Then, for reasons known only to him, Lazarus decided to jump down from about 25 feet up. He was spotted next door later that evening, where he was trapped, then delivered to the vet. He was extremely dehydrated, thin, and scared. There was a serious concern that his organs may have been damaged from his ordeal. He received fluids and a special diet to help him re-hydrate and recover. Fast forward to today: he is completely recovered, fixed, vaccinated, AND ready to be an inside cat! He has become extremely affectionate and is happy to accept all the love and pets that he can get. He is not yet fond of being picked up, but that may change the longer he is in a loving home. He is estimated at 2-3 years of age and seems to be doing well with other cats. He has not been around dogs while with us. Also, he is polydactyl--he has extra toes! We are guessing he would really enjoy a nice, tall cat tree in his forever home! Please consider making this handsome boy a member of your family!
