Meet Layla!<br/><br/>Layla is a beautiful female tabby believed to be around one year old. She is one of the 38 cats recently rescued by Edgar and Ivy from a heartbreaking hoarding situation.<br/><br/>Layla and the other cats were living crowded together in a very small space with almost no resources. They were suffering in the extreme heat with limited access to food and water. The cats were unsterilized, extremely thin, and many were suffering from upper respiratory infections. The psychological stress was overwhelming, with severe stress grooming and hair loss seen throughout the group.<br/><br/>These cats had been through hell.<br/><br/>When Layla arrived at Edgar and Ivy, she was triaged by our veterinary team and began receiving the medical care, proper nutrition, parasite treatment, and individual attention she desperately needed.<br/><br/>Layla has now been treated for her medical conditions. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and on flea prevention. She no longer has to compete with dozens of other cats for food, water, space, or a safe place to rest.<br/><br/>At only about a year old, Layla has already experienced more hardship than any cat should. Her life until now has been about simply surviving from one day to the next.<br/><br/>That part of Layla's story is over.<br/><br/>Now she gets to learn about full food bowls, clean water, soft beds, gentle hands, and what it means to belong to someone.<br/><br/>Layla survived the hoarding house. Now she is ready for a safe indoor home and a family of her very own.
